This series includes images of the forty-four personal Christmas cards created by artist Athos Menaboni and Coca-Cola executive Robert W. Woodruff.
Every year, beginning in 1941, Menaboni faithfully provided the painting of a bird that could be found at Wooduff’s Georgia plantation or at his ranch in Wyoming. Woodruff then had it lithographed on large cards which he and his wife mailed to family and friends, wishing them a “Merry Christmas.” The annual tradition continued until 1984.
For additional information, the article titled Our Nation’s Finest Collection: The Robert W. Woodruff / Athos Menaboni Christmas Card Series is included.
